As College Pastor, Chris gets to live out his two dreams of forever being a 18-24 year old and seeing college students find adventure and fun in following Jesus. Being a lover of diversity, dreams, and keeping it real, Chris loves that every college student has his/her own background, experiences, stories, and thoughts, and he loves hearing each and every one of them.
Since college can be the most influential time of peoples’ lives, and often when they decide what in life is worth going hard in the paint for, one of Chris’s biggest desires is to daily come alongside their passions and let them know that they are seen, heard, and known.
Chris graduated from Baylor University in 2013 with a degree in Religious Studies, and has led college students since 2010. With over 7+ years of experience in college ministry, he has continually discovered that college students at their core want to be known and want to know what they were made for. By simply being available, Chris has seen strangers lead to friendships and friendships lead to family.
Chris’ favorite things about SLC are hands down the mountains, the outdoors, and being able to effortlessly be in the wilderness. If he could be SLC’s version of Bear Grylls he would. In his free time, you can find him bouldering anything and everything, hiking with his wife Jules, scouring the city for the best Chicken and Waffles, snowboarding, trash talking others in sports, watching Psych, or pursuing the self-made up crown of Husband of the Year 2017.
